Legend has it that You Am I first met Andy Kent when he was doing sound for a Falling Joys show in Canberra. This date in May 1991 is the most likely contender given that Andy began a stint as You Am I's sound guy very shortly thereafter, starting with a show on 15th June at the Lansdowne Hotel, before replacing Nik Tischler as bass player in September. Having said that, there is no evidence that You Am I played this Canberra date, with the support listed as Clouds in the local gig guide. So, while some uncertainty remains, it is worth including this show for its potential importance as the meeting of the band with their future bass player.
